WESLEY WERNER

   Birth: 1894,   Death: November 1918

Wesley was born to Christopher and Caroline Werner in the community of Mt. Healthy - just outside of Cincinnati, Ohio. Wesley enlisted into the Army to fight in the Great War on 8 June, 1917 as a private in Company B of the 1st Infantry, Ohio National Guard. He was promoted to Private 1st Class on 26 July, 1917 - later that year transferring to Company L of the 147th Infantry. He was further promoted to Corporal on 22 June, 1918 as he moved into the American Expeditionary Forces led by General John Joseph "Black Jack" Pershing into the European Theater of Operations in France.
